What does your current role involve?
I currently work as the Director of Events Planning and Accreditations at Sela which is one of the PIF companies. Here I oversee the operational execution of large-scale events such as the Saudi Professional League, Italian Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup, African Super Cup, Riyadh Season, Jeddah Season, and other high-profile initiatives. My role involves strategic planning, resource optimization and managing cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of world-class experiences. For example, during the Riyadh Season, I led the operational setup and accreditation processes for key venues such as Boulevard City, Winter Wonderland and Combat Field, ensuring logistical efficiency and safety compliance.
In addition, I have been instrumental in executing sports-related projects. I supervised the Nusuk Hajj Card Operation under the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, where I managed and trained over 4,000 employees. My role requires close collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring projects align with organizational objectives while maintaining high-quality standards. These experiences have equipped me with the skills to navigate complex challenges, foster teamwork and deliver impactful outcomes across diverse events.
Which aspects of the FIFA Master course have helped you most in your career?
The FIFA Master was a cornerstone in my career development. It provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the global sports industry, blending management, law and humanities. The course organizational structure allowed me to confidently pursue opportunities in sports event management and large-scale projects, such as Riyadh and Jeddah Seasons, as well as sports-related initiatives with the Saudi Professional League and Saudi Arabia Football Federation after graduation.
The alumni network of the FIFA Master has also been invaluable. Through it, I’ve connected with professionals worldwide, exchanging insights and support that have directly impacted my work. This network, combined with the programme’s emphasis on innovation and collaboration, has been crucial in shaping my ability to lead major events and deliver exceptional results in the sports and entertainment sectors.
What advice would you give to future students on the course?
My advice to future students is to fully engage with every aspect of the programme and make the most of the diverse perspectives offered by your classmates. The FIFA Master attracts talent from across the globe, providing a unique opportunity to learn from your peers who will have varied experiences in sport and business.
Additionally, I encourage students to focus on how the programme can connect to their aspirations. For me, the blend of academic knowledge and real-world application prepared me for roles such as overseeing the Riyadh Season and leading projects in sports operations and entertainment. Invest in the friendships and professional relationships you will build as they will be a cornerstone of your career long after graduation. The FIFA Master is more than a course; it’s a gateway to a thriving, global network in sports management.
