Akhmed Tillaev

Current Position: AFC - Competition Rights Delivery Manager

Year of graduation: 2022 (22nd Edition)

Nationality: Uzbek

What does your current role involve?

I am currently working as a manager within the Competitions Rights Delivery Department, of the Competition and Football Events Division at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The primary focus of my role is on media operations for AFC competitions and events. This covers everything from controlling and monitoring media registration and accreditation, to drafting media information guides and all pre-match, match and post-match activities.

Which aspects of the FIFA Master course have helped you most in your career?

The FIFA Master programme nurtured an intellectual framework through which I have continued to view sport. For example, connecting the dots between sports history, cultural anthropology, politics and human nature. The course helped me to develop and to improve cultural and emotional intelligence skills which are extremely important assets once you start delving into international sports administration.

What advice would you give to future students on the course?

Stay as close as possible to each other and never get upset with any of your course mates as by the end of the FIFA Master you will all end up being a close family. Use the opportunity to nurture emotional and cultural intelligence as you will really need this during your career after graduation.  Also, try to be an active member of our FMA alumni family as it is a truly great and united community.

FIFA Master - International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport, ranked Europe's No.1 course a record 12 times by SportBusiness.

Organised by CIES in partnership with De Montfort University (UK), SDA Bocconi School of Management (Italy) and the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland).
